Two new IAX softphones popped up over the last serveral days—one for Mac, and one for Windows. For those of you
still not involved in Asterisk, IAX is a VoIP signaling standard that eliminates the problems imposed upon the
competing SIP standard by NAT firewalls. IAX is supported primarily by Asterisk-based service providers, of whom
there are very few. (Teliax is one—check them out.)
Anyway, the two new IAX phones, which look quite promising, are Jajah for Windows,
which also supports SIP and Skype, and Loudhush for
the Mac.
