Zaptel Drivers for Mac OS X Coming Soon?

asteridk

Benjamin Kowarsch of Sunrise Telephone Systems has been working with Asterisk on Mac OS X for the last year or so. He's credited with building the first Apple-friendly installer distribution of Asterisk for Mac OS X, and now, rumor has it, he's coordinating the creation of Zaptel-compliant (read: compatible with Asterisk) OS X device drivers for telephony interfaces, starting with the built-in modems on many Macs.

This can only be a good thing. The notorious stability and security of Mac OS X (and its widely-available commercial support) make it a fantastic platform for IP telephony.  If you're interested in Asterisk on OS X, you can subscribe to Benjamin's mailing list at the link below.
