As many of you know, I co-founded and run the Southern
California Wireless Users Group along with Frank Keeney. We have been running these meetings since 2002.
Our meetings are held every fourth Thursday of the month and tonight's the night!
After introductions, current events, and some Q&A, I will be giving an introduction and back story about my new book, Wi-Fi Toys. (In stores any minute!)
My plan is to cover
the contents of the book, the making of the projects in the book, and how this whole book-writing thing came out
of the blue to land in my lap a year ago in July 2003. I will have a pre-release copy of the book to show and give
away.
The meeting begins at 7:00 PM Pacific, 10:00 PM Eastern.
If you can't come in person to the Pasadena, California location. Watch it Live over the Internet in streaming video via http://www.socalwug.org. If you missed it, the video will be archived forever on the SOCALWUG site next week.
Communicate in real-time…
If you are watching the streaming video, you can ask questions via instant messaging!

Live video in real-time…
You'll need the free Real Player download from www.real.com. We use RealVideo 8 format for live and archived videos. So even an old version will work fine.
Re-visit in virtual-time…
Last month Linksys gave a presentation on their consumer product line including new products that had never been seen before. Watch the video for the May meeting.
Over the past 2 years, meetings have covered topics such as wardriving, security, antenna construction, spectrum analysis, wifi kiosks, coffee house hotspots, fixed wireless internet, mobile wireless, radio frequency identification (RFID), ultra wideband (UWB), GPS and GPS jamming, community wireless, and a myriad of company products. If it's wireless, we've discussed it!

1. The meeting went very well! I spoke about the Wi-Fi Toys book, the motivation for writing it, and how it came to be. And showed plenty of pictures. Questions came fast and frequently. 90 minutes later we ended the meeting and I gave away a copy of the book to a lucky attendee.
A write-up is coming soon including a link to the slide show. Stay tuned!
